What is Upward?

Upward (a national organization) is an exciting, positive, and Christ-centered league for all children kindergarten through 6th grade.  The goals of the Upward Basketball sports experience are to emphasize healthy competition, sportsmanship, skills building and fun versus the “win-at-all-costs” mentality found in many children sports leagues.  Upward accomplishes this with positive and encouraging coaches and referees, as well as unique rules and regulations for basketball that attempt to make game day as fair as possible. 
 

When is Upward?

Registration will begin next fall. Weekly practices will begin in late September.  At each practice, our carefully screened and trained coaches teach the players the game and help them work on their skills.  Halfway through each practice, the players hear a testimony or devotion from their coach, and learn a Bible verse for that week.  Upward games will be held on Saturday mornings through October.
